Voices From the Center
Through conversations with former dissidents, Solidarity members, apparatchiks, scientists, ecologists, artists, teachers and villagers, Engelstad examines how socialism and the fall of the Berlin Wall has impacted the lives of individuals and society living in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. The participants recount planning and leading revolutions and what it means to have freedom. They share their dreams, fears, and hopes for themselves, their countries, and the world.
